NYC Restaurant Week 2022 FAQ
We’re sure you have some questions. We’re here to help! If you can't find the answers below, feel free to submit your question or comment via the form here.
What is NYC Restaurant Week?
NYC Restaurant Week is a semiannual program that celebrates New York City’s world-famous dining scene. Participating restaurants citywide offer menus at a special price for lunch and/or dinner, inspiring diners to try something new (and even break bread in a different borough).
When is NYC Restaurant Week?
The program runs from January 18 through February 13, but restaurants may participate for one, two, three or all four weeks. Always check the NYC Restaurant Week page before booking to ensure the offer is active at your desired restaurant at the time you want to dine.
What deals are available during NYC Restaurant Week?
The winter 2022 program features a trio of pricing options ($29, $39, $59), which restaurants may offer during meal periods of their choosing (lunch, dinner or both). While enabling a greater variety of restaurants in all five boroughs to participate, this structure also creates more options—and more available reservations—for diners.
Are the deals available every day?
In general, restaurants have opted into certain meal periods from Monday through Friday. Please check their websites for hours of operation and regularly scheduled closings. Saturdays are excluded from the program; Sunday participation is optional.
Will takeout and/or delivery options be available?
Takeout and/or delivery is not an official component of NYC Restaurant Week Winter 2022. If a restaurant happens to offer their prix-fixe menu for takeout/delivery, please note that your meal will not be eligible for the Mastercard statement credit.
How do I get $10 back?
To receive your $10 statement credit, you must register your eligible Mastercard prior to dining during the program dates. You will have to spend $39 or more on a single transaction in a participating restaurant. The credit will be reflected on your next Mastercard statement, usually 10 business days after the charge was made.
I spent $78 on my meal. Shouldn't I get $20 back?
No—you’ll receive $10 back on each single transaction of $39 or more, not for every increment of $39 you spend.
Why haven’t I received my $10 statement credit?
If you are waiting to receive a previously redeemed credit:
- Please first ensure that you registered your Mastercard before you made the transaction at DinewithMC.com. Upon successful enrollment, you would have received a confirmation email. Make sure to check your spam folder just in case.
- Please allow 15 business days for processing. Mastercard may have posted the credit, but it may not yet appear on your bank statement.
- You may have already reached the maximum of ten (10) credits (for a total of $100 back).
- You must be the primary account holder.
- This promotion is open to US Mastercard cardholders only.
- Please note that the $10 Mastercard statement credit is only valid for transactions made on-site and not for takeout or delivery.
- Though most of our restaurants are enrolled in the statement credit program, some are not eligible. Before you dine, please confirm the restaurant is eligible for the statement credit by using the “$10 Back” filter on the NYC Restaurant Week page.
- If you are missing the statement credit for any other reasons, you may call Mastercard Customer Loyalty at (844) 475-8335 within 30 days of the transaction date to investigate further. Please have your credit card details and meal receipt handy. Although Mastercard will do their best to accommodate you, please note that no credits will be applied beyond 40 days after the end of the promotion.

What precautions are in place to help prevent the spread of Covid-19?
While New York City is fully open and vaccinations have been a boon to everyday life and local business, Covid-19 remains a reality for all of us. Public health officials have devised measures to help keep individuals safe. For instance, everyone who is 12 and older must provide proof of full vaccination to access indoor dining spaces in New York City. Currently, children ages 5–11 must show proof of one vaccination dose to enter restaurants; as of January 28, they must be able to show proof of two doses. Children under 5 who have not had the vaccine must be accompanied by a fully vaccinated parent or guardian. Masks are required for all individuals except for children under the age of 2. For more details, visit our coronavirus information and resources page.
Tips for NYC Restaurant Week
1. Score a top table.
Having trouble getting a table at one of the City’s popular restaurants? Try booking for lunch: many sought-after eateries participate in the program only for the midday meal. Alternatively, make a reservation for Sunday night, when there’s usually more availability—and when many restaurants still serve their NYC Restaurant Week menus. (Check in advance.)
2. Plan ahead.
Many diners reserve tables only during the first five days of the program, but NYC Restaurant Week runs for four weeks—leaving many opportunities to recover from your food coma and book again.

A Taste of History
NYC Restaurant Week is the City’s original culinary celebration—and the world’s first-ever Restaurant Week. The program debuted in 1992, when it was developed as a one-time culinary event to welcome the Democratic National Convention (DNC) to the City. Though it was created to appeal to delegates and other DNC attendees, the program—with 95 participating restaurants—also found a strong following among residents excited to dine at some of the City's top restaurants.
Over the past 30 years, NYC Restaurant Week has grown tremendously, yet has remained committed to giving visitors and residents the opportunity to experience the quality, variety and hospitality that embody the NYC dining experience.
In early 2021, NYC Restaurant Week To Go put a spin on the tradition to give the dining industry some much-needed support amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Our first-ever takeout and delivery program has become our largest dining initiative to date, with more than 800 participants from all five boroughs. If its success has taught us anything, it’s that New Yorkers love their restaurants—and NYC Restaurant Week is here to stay.
The program has since returned to its in-person glory, with a more inclusive pricing structure to ensure representation of all the incredible dining options across the five boroughs.
